The TestBase SQLCODE -805 Tool is a small, downloadable free z/OS product which quickly helps users identify the source of Db2 SQLCODE -805. The tool is nondestructive: no RACF Macros, no connections to interactive applications, no TCPIP Macros/FTP, does not run authorized but as a simple Db2 application and does not access, capture or manipulate file data or user information.
The z/OS product installs in about an hour, no password is required and supports Db2 versions 10, 11 and 12. A bind is required to access the Db2 catalog. Execute the CG command from a CLIST or setup through fastpath navigation to identify these common causes of Db2 SQLCODE -805:
- Wrong load library or library concatenation
- DBRM was created and bound but the object was not linked
- Object was linked but DBRM was not bound
- Wrong PLAN name
- Collection not part of PLAN or wrong collection
- Wrong value of CURRENT PACKAGESET special register
