New Software Identifies Sources of Deadlock Timeout and Resource Unavailable Situations

SoftBase Systems, Inc., a leading provider of DB2® for z/OS® Application Test Data Solutions, announced today that its new DeadLock Advisor™ 3.2 software will be generally available July 30th, 2010.
DeadLock Advisor is the first DB2 tool to identify the source of deadlock timeouts and resource unavailable conditions and present that information in the joblogs of the offending and offended batch job's log.
"Traditionally, organizations have relied on database administrators or other trained IT personnel to search the DB2 Master log in order to determine the source of -904 or -911 errors." said Gary Blair, CEO of SoftBase Systems. DeadLock Advisor's sister product, Batch Analyzer™, will also highlight deadlocked (and resource unavailable) situations directly in the display of your batch window. Batch Analyzer can also display all of these occurrences over a window of time. And Batch Analyzer can often even point to the exact SQL statement in the processed terminated by the unavailable resource.
